• Cocoa Nibs & Honey Ultimate Growth Serum ($16 / 8 oz.) – This is now one of my favorite Camille Rose products.  It actually makes me break my dislike of oil mixes.  It is light enough that it works well on my low porosity hair, while still being able to seal moisture in.  As an added bonus, it has hair growing products.

• Caramel Cowash ($14 / 8 oz.) – It is a close call between this product and the Cocoa Nibs for which one I love the best.  Ultimately, I chose the serum because the bottle will last longer.  This co-wash is amazing, but it will go fast because I have a lot of hair.  In addition to the Camille Rose heavenly scent, it has amazing slip and makes my hair feel like butter, while still being able to clean my hair.  It is also gentle enough to cleanse and condition my 18-month old daughter’s hair, despite her sensitive scalp.

• Coconut Water Penetrating Hair Treatment ($20 / 8 oz.) – I was so surprised by how well this worked on my hair as a deep conditioner.  Every time I used it, it soften up my hair and left it feeling like butter when I washed it out.  My only pause is that I don’t see any protein in it, and I know my hair needs protein over time.

• Sweet Ginger Cleansing Rinse ($11 / 12 oz.) - This is one of the few Camille Rose products that I've tried that does not smell like a sweet dessert.  It cleanses my hair without stripping it, and it has incredible slip.  Plus, a little goes a long way and it is cheaper per ounce than the other Camille Rose cleansers.  For people who think a cleanser should foam, this does that too.

• Nourishing Cream Cleanser ($11 / 8 oz.) – This is a holiday limited edition product.  It reminds me of a watery version of the Carmel Cowash.  It smells heavenly, has amazing slip and it cleanses my hair without stripping it, but I have other cleansers that I can get year-round that I like just as much.

• Coconut Water "Style Setter" ($15 / 8 oz.) – I was torn on this product as a styler.  It is very similar to the Camille Rose Almond Jai Twist Butter in the way it works on my hair.  It moisturizes, but there was little definition and sheen.  However, on one sleep deprived night, I accidentally attempted to use this product as an overnight deep conditioner.  It left my hair sooo soft when I washed it out.  I put it in the like it, as opposed to love it, because it isn’t performing the function it is supposed to.

• Coconut Water Leave-In Treatment ($14 / 8 oz.) – This left a strange coating on my hair, though it did leave it moisturized.  I ultimately donated it to my daughter’s newly formed product stash.

• Nourishing Cream Leave In ($13 / 8 oz.) - This is a holiday limited edition product, and I have no desire to ever buy it again.  I tried it both right after a shower and on wet hair, and it left my bone dry.

Hey, beautiful people!  For this wash day, I did a couple experiments.  The first was unintentional.  As usual, I did an overnight deep conditioner first.  I had just enough Hairveda Acai Phyto Berry Conditioner in the bottle for one side of my hair.  I wasn't ready to open up another bottle; so, on the other side of my hair, I used another favorite light protein deep conditioner - Aubrey Organics Island Naturals Replenishing Conditioner.  These are both awesome conditioners for my hair.  The Hairveda was easier to apply because it glides better on my strands.  However, the Aubrey Organics left my hair softer when I washed the conditioners out of my hair the next day.

Next, after I rinsed out the conditioners, I went straight into styling.  After my successful wash n go last week, I wanted to see if I could duplicate the results with another favorite leave-in conditioner -- Koils by Nature Leave-In.  After applying the leave-in, I applied my oil mix and applied Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic for my wash n go.  So far, so good.  My hair seems a little bit shinier and it dried a little faster; but, other than that, it looks pretty much the same.  It did flake a little, but it was barely noticeable. 

Wash and style time - 35 minutes, including periodic pauses to entertain the baby, who was watching me apply products

Dry time - ~6 hours for the front, and the back is still damp.

Hey, beautiful people!  It is important to keep a hair journal so that you can figure out what works for your hair and what doesn't.  My hair journal that I've had for years is finally on it's last pages, so I'm taking it electronic.

This weekend, I had limited time for my wash day because I was home alone with the baby.  I have had Koils by Nature products in my stash for awhile, so today seemed like the best time to try.

In typical wash day fashion, I applied my deep conditioner the night before, separating my hair into 4 sections.  I used the Koils by Nature Ultra Moisturizing Deep Conditioner (review coming soon).  I left it in while I took my shower, then I rinsed it out while finger detangling.

I didn't towel or T-shirt dry my hair today.  Instead, I applied the Koils by Nature Cocoa-Aloe Leave-in Conditioner (review coming soon) to my hair, while doing additional finger detangling.  Then, I applied the Koils by Nature Herbal Curl Defining Gel in Peppermint for a wash n' go.  I'm not expecting much out of this wash n' go because the gel doesn't seem like it has enough hold, though it has great slip.

I started the wash process at 11:15 a.m., and I was done applying the gel by 11:38 (total wash time 23 minutes).  Over an hour later, my hair was still dripping.  Twelve hours later, it was mainly dry. I had a little flaking, but not a ton.  The bigger issue was that it frizzed horribly, and shrunk alot.
